John 13:37-38

Peter wanted to lay his life down for Jesus. What he didn’t know then was that the reverse was about to happen: Jesus was going to lay His life down for Peter. That sacrifice was for more than just Peter; in the same way, Jesus’ offering of His life was also for us modern-day betrayers and deniers.
