Have you ever led a student who had just too many ‘feels’ that was stopping him/her from sharing the gospel? Here’s a list of feels AND responses that you could use to encourage them to keep sharing the gospel despite their feels.

1) When you feel too shy and are not ready yet…

If we are going to wait until every possible hindrance has been removed before we do a work for the Lord, we will never attempt to do anything. -T. J. Bach

2) When you’re too afraid to make mistakes…

Jesus expected all of His original disciples to make disciples. He empowered them, knowing they would make mistakes. Too often we act like only full-time pastors or people who have been believers forever can make disciples. But we must not forget it is progress, not perfection, that qualifies one to disciple others. – Steve Murrell

3) When you feel like you can’t do it because you’re going through a difficult season…

Don’t be afraid to speak from personal experience; in many ways, those vulnerable moments will be the key that unlocks a hardened heart. –Luis Palau

4) When you feel like sharing the Gospel will make you look weird…

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

5) When you feel like you don’t know how to share it…
1

When Jesus tells us to do something, He always equips us to do it. – Warren Shibley

6) When you feel like you’re too young to share the Gospel…

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

7) When you feel afraid because he/she knows about your past…

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

8) When you feel like he/she will just test and ask you difficult questions…

People say that it is so hard to bring Jesus Christ and present him before the lives of men today. Of course it is. It is so hard that it is impossible except by the power of the indwelling Holy Ghost. – Oswald Chambers

9) When you feel like you’re “not called” to share…

The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed. – Hudson Taylor

10) When you’re not sure who to reach out to…

Jesus . . . wants us to see that the neighbor next door or the people sitting next to us on a plane or in a classroom are not interruptions to our schedule. They are there by divine appointment. Jesus wants us to see their needs, their loneliness, their longings, and he wants to give us the courage to reach out to them. – Rebecca Manley Pippert

So we say, no more excuses! No more “feels” that may deceive us. Let’s obey the Great Commission to go and make disciples!

Because nothing is more glorious when someone receives the Gospel, right?
*cue in happy tears*

And you’re not the only one celebrating! Luke 15:10 says that there’s a rejoicing in Heaven when one sinner repents… so let’s keep the party in Heaven going!
