An Open Letter to the Tired and Weary

Dear student,

You might have heard this for the very first time or this might sound like a broken record: You are a world-changer. This is the truth, and there is so much in you that you might not yet know or the world has not yet seen.

You might have stumbled along the way or made mistakes in this imperfect path of life, but there’s hope available for you every single day.

Because of the unfailing love and grace of God who has compassion on you, you can rise up and show the world who you are called and created to be—His very best version of you.

The God who created the universe, the one who is excellent in all He did, took time to create you and breathe life into your nostrils, because He knew that you are special. You are His very own masterpiece.

He made a way for you by sending His own Son as a sacrifice. There is no better substitute than His own Son, Jesus, to pay the wages of your sin. God gave the very best to save, redeem, and restore you to live an abundant life. He sent His Son in the most excellent way, love, to stir up an awakening in your soul.

When you experience this love, you no longer live for the ordinary, but for the glory and honor of the excellent God who saved you and called you by name. As His child, you are a being of purpose.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9

You are chosen to proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

He searched for you—someone who was lost, someone who seems ordinary in the eyes of the world—and rescued you. He knows your potential.

No more striving.

In your pursuit of excellence, dear student, you might have become tired and weary because you thought that the source of excellence is your own strength.

But this God of excellence is giving you the ability to be the best version of yourself, not according to the standards of the world, but through the heart of a gracious Father showing His precious child the better way. This is such a privilege! In Him, there is no more striving. Your very soul becomes one with your mind, heart, and body, secure in the love of a Father. And through His Spirit, you can thrive in freedom and growth.

If you have a task to complete or if the thought of it tires you already, I pray for the supernatural grace of God to fill you and minister to your weary soul. I pray that you will be inspired by His Spirit to begin this journey. I pray that you will humbly accept the unfailing love of our Father to help, guide, and inspire you.

I pray that you will be empowered and strengthened to live His excellencies and change the world from where you are. In your weakness, His grace is made perfect.

Someone who was lost and found, was awakened by His love, and is being transformed daily by His excellencies, humbled to live for His purpose
