The Revolution is Still On

We just ended our 3-week series on love. This February has been an exciting one because we welcomed a REVOLUTION! One that is not of violence, rebellion, or bloodshed but one that is of the heart.

Revolution from the Latin revolutio meaning “a turn around” or an “ overthrow of a social order in favor of a new system.” We are ushering people to a revolution indeed! To welcome a “turn around” and an “overthrow” of an old way to a new way… of love and relationships.

The past three weeks, we have been talking about different love stories from the Bible.

Here are three thoughts from the three love stories that we can encourage our young people with.

1. On Isaac and Rebekah: GOD IS THE GREATEST MATCH MAKER & THE BEST LOVE STORY WRITER OF ALL TIME

We see different characters through the story. But more than the people in the story, as you look at every event, we see how one unseen character in particular—God had perfectly timed and orchestrated every event.

  • A father’s instruction that relied on God’d leading
  • A servant’s prayer answered by God through a timely turn of events
  • Blessings given by parents
  • A glorious meeting that ended in marriage

Wow! Talk about perfect timing!

The same God who made their love story possible is the same God we worship now.

He is a God of perfect timing and a God who orchestrates the best events not just in love but in life. We can trust Him knowing that the stories we entrust in His hands are events that will be greater than what we’ve every dreamed of or imagined!

2. On Samson and Delilah: LOVE APART FROM GOD’S LORDSHIP LEADS TO TRAGEDY

Samson who was set to do great things for God, ended up not fulfilling what he was meant to do. Being led by his desires and own will, his love story with Delilah cost him his destiny and his life.

God has a great destiny for us. But if we are led by selfish desires and our own will and not God’s ways, our stories may cost us our destiny and our life. On the other hand, when we put the honor of God above every relationship, there fulfilment and a flourishing of purpose and destiny happens.

3. On Ruth and Boaz: GOD’S LOVE IS A REDEEMING LOVE THAT CHANGES US FOREVER

What Boaz did for Ruth as a kinsman redeemer is a beautiful picture of what Jesus did on the cross. As it changed Ruth’s life forever, so does the love of Christ.

How Jesus loved a sinful people has revolutionized the way to love. The cross displays redeeming love that goes beyond our past, our sin and our fears. He is the greatest revolutionary that ought to change the way we love.

The revolution is still on… would you allow the love of God to give your heart a turn around? Would you you join the revolution and overthrow an old way of love and relationships?

God’s love stands in eternity waiting for His beloved people to return and rest in His unfailing love.

God is still inviting…let’s continue be part of and invite others to join the greatest LOVE REVOLUTION and for sure it’s gonna be the best adventure ever!
